Andrea Caronia

Andrea Caronia is an artist of Italian-Egyptian origins born in Rome in 1988. In 2016, he moved to Palermo, where his studio is based, and dedicated himself to his passion for abstract and informal painting. His careful experimentation is the result of continuous study and creative ability aimed at making visible the atmospheric sensitivity of inner landscapes. Driven by a decisive instinctual component, he creates informal works characterized by layers of color, broad chiaroscuro brushstrokes, drippings, and other symbolic operations that make the metaphorical representation of everyday life lively and dynamic through the introspection of the most modern aspects of human existence. For the artist, color represents a trace of the past, the residual material of lived experiences latent in memory and recollection, but which leads the viewer to pose future questions that challenge their own perception of the world.
