Echoes of the subconscious

Andrea Caronia’s X-Rays artworks represent a metaphor for art as active energy and infinite possibilities of creation and interpretation.

While radiography allows us to penetrate a body, investigating its skeletal truth, in these works, there is a perception of the desire to observe deeply and interpret the visible from alternative perspectives. The artist intervenes on the X-ray through color, almost restoring the vitality and unexpressed wholeness of the human being.

He flips the X-rays to give them new meanings, also through backlighting: he presents a skeleton of the visible and invisible world, the protagonist of interaction with matter and light, to give new substance to the reasons for one’s existence. But what strikes most, beyond the technical procedures, are the poetic and formal inspirations that guide the artistic path.

The X-ray represents the physical and spiritual trauma harbored within each of us, and the chromatic operations signify a potential transformation, a dynamic opening to new possibilities for self-observation and intersubjective expression.

Accompanying the exhibition process is a composition by sound designer Marco Correnti titled “Breathe.” The track, specially created for the project, generates an immersive storytelling experience, focusing on the value of subliminal messages in audiovisual narration. The sound embraces a techno-surrealist expressive language, through careful mixing and editing of effects closely connected to our daily lives.
